Overview
Oryn ("we", "our", or "us") is an AI-powered fitness coaching app. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, why we collect it, and how we use it when you use the Oryn mobile application and related services.
Data We Collect
- Account information — your name and email address, provided when you sign up via Apple Sign-In or email.
- Fitness & workout data — exercises, sets, reps, weights, session notes, workout schedules, and training history you create or log in the app.
- Profile & goal data — fitness goals, experience level, available equipment, and preferences you provide during onboarding.
- Subscription status — whether you have an active Oryn Premium subscription, managed via RevenueCat.
- AI chat history — messages exchanged with the Oryn AI coach, used to provide personalized coaching responses.
How We Use Your Data
- To provide, personalize, and improve the Oryn coaching experience
- To generate AI-powered workout recommendations and coaching responses
- To track your fitness progress over time
- To manage your account and subscription
- To communicate with you about your account when necessary
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored securely in a hosted PostgreSQL database (Neon). Authentication tokens are stored locally on your device using the iOS Keychain via Expo SecureStore. We use industry-standard HTTPS encryption for all data in transit.
Third-Party Services
- Apple Sign-In — used for authentication. Apple may process your credentials per their own privacy policy.
- RevenueCat — used to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat receives your subscription status and app user ID. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- Anthropic (Claude AI) — your AI chat messages and relevant workout context are sent to Anthropic's API to generate coaching responses. See Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We do not share your data with third parties except as described above (authentication, subscription management, and AI processing) or as required by law.
Data Retention & Deletion
Your data is retained as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at the email below. We will process deletion requests within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
Oryn is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page. Continued use of Oryn after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
